The NJ Falconry Club is pleased to announce that this season’s
Winter Field Meet Guest Speaker will be Lauren McGough!


Lauren's presentation is entitled:


"Hunting with Eagles in Mongolia and South Africa:
Ancient and Modern Traditions in Eagle Falconry"


Lauren has been a falconer since age 14, and has been hunting with eagles for more than 10 years. She learned to fly captive bred golden eagles while living in Scotland as an exchange student, and learned to fly passage golden eagles as a Fulbright scholar in Mongolia. Since 2013 she has hunted with rehab golden eagles in the US and is currently finishing her PhD in Cultural Anthropology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.


Most recently, Lauren spent six months in South Africa hunting with crowned eagles and has loved exploring the possibilities of African falconry.
