    Default New Here

Hello all, I just started my apprenticeship in 2019. I live in Central Iowa. I'm currently flying a FRT that we trapped at 1829g with a full crop. We are hunting now at about 1320g. I'm excited to meet other folks and learn as much as possible!

Welcome, how goes hunting your first bird? Sounds like a bigger red tail. You should plan on coming to the NAFA meet this November in Nebraska, you will have a great time and learn a bunch.

Keith, I have a room reserved and plan on attending the NAFA meet this year. So far, I have only hunted her 3 times and she is doing pretty well. Unfortunately, the first couple of hunts we didn't have any slips (beyond a mouse she caught). The third hunt she made three slips at a rabbit but we didn't connect. I will be hunting tomorrow so I'm excited to see how we do!

Good luck, hopefully you will be able to expand beyond mice, lord knows I wouldn't mind a few less mice caught myself but it's hard to tell happy Harris hawks no to fast food.
