The Complete Works of Jack Mavrogordato, in Three Volumes:

    A HAWK FOR THE BUSH
    A FALCON IN THE FIELD
    BEHIND THE SCENES
    by Jack Mavrogordato

    (1960/1966/1982) 2005 hardback edition.
Three volume set. Color & b/w photographs & illustrations, brief bibliography.
Fine essentially new hardbacks in dust-wrappers.

This is a matching three volume set of new editions of each title, containing much new material and many new illustrations and photographs.

A Hawk for the Bush: Includes a new chapter on making Anglo-Indian hoods. Updated hood patterns printed full size as well as new veterinary chapter by Dr. Neil Forbes. Section on sharp-shinned hawks and another on imprints revised by Kenneth Tuttle and Larry Crowley respectively. Many new, original color illustrations.

A Falcon for the Field: A Treatise on the Training and Flying of Falcons, Being a Companion Volume and Sequel to A Hawk for the Bush. Includes new material and many new color illustrations. The Anglo-Indian patterns from the first edition included as appendices.

Behind the Scenes: Mavro's London childhood, war-time service, twelve years in the Sudan finishing as Attorney-General there, and his fifty-five years as a falconer. Includes many new photographs of the author and his birds.

Useful, impressive and a good read.
