    Default Lost dog

    January 13, 2009, Tuesday

I lost a 3 year old english setter female, near Grasmere(Hiway 51) in southern central Idaho. Grasmere is south of Mt. Home and south of the Airforce Base, 35 miles north of the Nevada line. She is wearing an orange reflective coller with my phone number on it. The dog bolted upon being let out of the rig and has not been seen in a day and a half of looking. She was bred and raised by myself and my wife and is a family pet that is greatly missed. Any information(dead or alive) will be greatly appreciated! Phone (307) 670-3835 cell

Thanks guys! She was picked up on the hiway last nite and is safe and sound in Elko Nevada, 250 miles from here, in Boise. I have a bit of a drive today. Anybody up for a little grouse hawking in the Owyhee Canyon Lands on my way back tomorrow?

Great news Jeff, might I suggest installing telemetry the next time you go out with her... It's not a matter of if but when 250 miles is a preetty good first cast

Yah! I couldn't find it and let her out to go pee. A major search found it hiding under the drivers seat and I put it in action and to good use when I ran her brother in the sage on the way down. Amazing how my attitude can get lax with a dog but I would never loose one of my hawks with out being beeped up.

Intuition(sp) did not give me that old sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and I told a couple of people that I believed that I had not seen the end of this dog.

Thank you all for the well wishes!!

Ain't that the truth!! These folks are great!! Here he is an avid bird hunter with a Wimmeriner(sp) and he and his wife liked Maggie very much, yet wouldn't take a dime, even if it states reward on the collar.

I redid my phone number on the collar in Oct. before heading to Idaho. It is a little faded now but got her back.

Several of the falconers in the Boise area have treated me like a long lost brother, people on this whole trip have generally been great... Yes there are still a lot of great people around.

Great news Jeff! She probably wouldn't have lasted long with the freezing temperatures at night.
