    Neat Video

Nice "throwing" technique (wonder if I could evere get that motion down without killing the bird???)

The birds seems to enjoy carrying a bit more than I'd like though...

If you going to throw a bird, that is how to do it! I can't really see how he has the bird cupped in his hand and would love to see that up close. I also noticed a few times, he actually threw the bird too hard and it overflew the sparrow. I would imagine it would be a tough thing to get a handle on the best speed. Pretty cool video, you have to love hawking sparrows in town like that. The streets he hawked on were pretty quiet, so it appeared to be really safe, I liked that!

I do believe that's the best kestrel hawking video I've ever seen!!! I've been tempted to try that throwing technique but have decided against it. Instead, I've been emailing with a master that imprinted a kestrel and after using good bagging techniques had it successful taking very long slips. I can see how the throwing can force the kestrel to "think quick" but it seems to me it would take away the need to develop much in the way of muscle tone and endurance, which is what I would like to go for being as I have alot more space available to me where I live.
