    Default Soon to be apprentice.

    Hello all,

Briefing: I am a New Mexico resident farm raised, avid outdoorsman, was a professional dog trainer (agility and obedience) I’ve worked with everything from mice to primates and I’ve recently lost a dear family member and hunting buddy (My GSH Pointer Marshall) and though it's been tough; I now have a great deal more time to pursue something I've been longing to do(become a Falconer). I have had the opportunity to accompany a great group of Falconers and their Birds and am looking forward to becoming an apprentice.

Welcome! My wife is an avid agility person with her shelter corgie-collie mix. I told her for years that she needed a hobby - I'm now telling her that I didn't mean one that involves me spending whole weekends sitting in an Ag center watching her compete while trying to keep our 1.5 and 4 year olds corralled.

Robert, glad to see you made it to this site. It sounds like you had an opportunity to get out with Warren and the guys. Hope things work out for you.

Yes Jim I did, and it was really a direct result of running in to you at the lake. I guess fate had a part in pushing me on this journey.

I too hope it works out. I'm devoting all that I have to making it happen.

In my opinion It's much easier to train than to compete and three times as difficult to manage children.

    Hi Robert,

Welcome to NAFEX and NM Falconry. If you have any questions about getting started here don't hesitate to ask, we have a good group of pro-falconry people at NMG&F.

    Thanks,
I've been communicating with Trish and she's been awesome. She's real knowldgeable and best of all doesn't get annoyed with my questions.
