    Default Falconry......that's it.

    Hi everyone,

My name is Rachel and I have always been interested in Falconry.
I do have alot of experience with exotics of all sorts ( avians, mammals and herps and it looks like from reading im not the only one here LOL)
. I'm 32 and not much of a girly girl because I like to hunt and tromp through the woods.
In the past year though, Ive come to the conclusion it's time to start living instead of just dreaming and reading. I am very interested in attending some meets and possibly maybe courting an apprenticeship( if anyone would find me worthy hopefully). I am very willing to work hard and learn.

    Hi Rachel,

There are quite a few women in this sport. What state are you in?

    Welcome!

Rachel! In a lot of the State the hunting season for a lot of the game is coming to an end. There are a lot of good threads on this site.
You can add you real first name to your post by using the CP in the upper left hand corner. Have fun, that is what it is all about. But thing can move very slow in the Sport of Falconry.

Welcome, Rachel! If you're serious about getting a bird this coming fall, now's a great time to get started! There is a ton of fantastic threads for apprentice resources here.

    Cheers!

I am interested in starting to learn to make sure I can do this but it seems like no falconer will respond back to me.
It would be very discouraging if I wasnt so tenancious.

    Welcome to NAFEX.

It's been barely 24 hours since your fist post. Falconry takes years so read, chill, enjoy. Try "The Modern Apprentice" site for lots of really good reading. http://www.themodernapprentice.com/

No matter how hard you try the earliest you could be training a bird is September. OH and it's getting to the end of the season, lots of guys that might answer are out with their birds.

    All the best
