Hi. I'm an apprentice in Oregon. I plan on trapping a RTH when the season opens again, and I have 3 years experience with raptors.

Welcome! Are you shooting for a male or female? What is your quarry?

If you haven't done so already, I urge you consider joining the Oregon Falconer's Assn. OFA has a summer campout in June, a fall meet in late October, and in recent years, has also put on a winter meet near the end of February.
I can be contacted at charinabottae@eartlnk.net should you have questions.

Thanks Richard. I have already filled out NAFA and OFA applications I'm waiting for my next paycheck before mailing them though. Looking forword to going to meets and meeting people.
I dont care what sex at this point. I plan on mainly getting squirrel mostly, and rabbits when I head out to visit family in central oregon. I was a wilderness survival instructor for about 6 months before finding a new job and hope to actually use some of those skills out hunting now
to NAFEX, we like to have new members sign there post. You can have this done automatically by going to the User CP section in the upper left hand corner. What have you hunted in the past?

It is extremely difficult to hunt squirrels in the northwest. They tend to stay near cedar, pines, and evergreen stands and are lost very quickly in the thick tree tops. Plus the Western Grey Squirrels are protected, and look almost identical to the Eastern Greys. Good news is bunnies are closer than you think!!
