Default New Jersey Confirmed Red Tail with Equipment Sightings

There have been a minimum of 3 confirmed sightings recently of a Red Tail with falconry equipment in the area where Route 12 intersects with Route 579 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

This location is approximately 4 miles west of Flemington, NJ and approximately 8 miles west of the Delaware River which separates New Jersey from the Pennsylvania.

Any photos? Flying jesses on the bird?

No photos. I haven’t personally seen the bird. I posted after hearing about the bird from a good friend who is a falconer and New Jersey State Trooper. It was brought to his attention by another State Trooper who is stationed out of a State Police barrack just down the road from where the bird has been sighted. Apparently it has been observed by the Trooper who brought it to his attention as well as several other people who work/live in the area. The equipment was described by one person as a “leash” hanging from the bird’s legs.
