Default Ohio Falconers Association annual picnic and raffle

The Ohio Falconers Association would like to invite all interested licensed falconers to our annual fall meeting.

The meeting this year will be Saturday, Oct 3, at the District Headquarters (not the State Headquarters) of the Ohio Division of Wildlife. They have a nice, ample meeting room there that they will allow us to use.

    ODNR District Headquarters
    1500 Dublin Rd
    Columbus, OH 43215-1010

Tim Cox is in the process of putting together a fine raffle or auction for this meeting. If you have anything you'd like to contribute to the effort, please give him an email or call at timmwade@yahoo.com.
    8840 Southwold Ct.
    Powell,OH 43065
    614-787-0401.

The reason for this meeting site, is that we are arranging for the appearance of Greg Thomas, one of the world's finest, most experienced, and successful falconers. Greg will be coming over from Indiana, and will present his renowned digital presentation on the red-tailed hawk in modern falconry. As many know, Greg is the author of the red-tail chapters in all of the recent editions of North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks. He has devised a number of unique and rewarding training and conditioning techniques with his red-tails and will describe them in detail. His falconry PowerPoint has been presented to falconry associations in all of the nearby states, to great acclaim. Wait until you learn how he is able to take his red-tails to Texas each year and nail giant jackrabbits with ease.

This will be a special meeting, and we will make every effort to get as many in attendance as possible. The combination of the raffle and Greg Thomas's presentation will make this the most informative and rewarding meeting we've ever had.

    If there are any questions about the meeting please contact;

The West Virginia contingent will be there just to see Joby with his bells on. Hope he doesn't have a pocket full of Fairy Dust. LOL

Both of them are doing good. Cobie has settled in to his new home and the pup is busy being a pup (currently a pain in the a$$, but she'll grow out of it). As soon as I get these two Harris Hawks figured out, I'll come up and bring the cast and pack.

I regret that I'll be unable to attend. It sounds like a great program! My cousin (who I haven't seen in 22 years) is coming to visit. If I do break free, I'll try to make it.

    Default But WAIT! There's MORE!

AND add a Launcher Leash and framed Mountain Princess pic I'm bringing for the Raffle.

I also promise to do my best to see my featured presentation lives up to the billing OFA has given it (Geesh! No pressure here!).

Seriously, folks, it sure looks like the OFA is putting on a great gathering this year for all Ohio falconers to fellowship with old friends, make new ones, and talk about what's important for Ohio falconry this year.

And the rest of us who live in the Midwest, what a great way to start our season by visiting with our Ohio brothers and sisters of the hunt!

    See you there!

Yes, the event is being held at an Department of Natural Resources Office. I was not
real thrilled with the location chosen this year but I'd bet we'll be having a great outdoor event next year!
