New guy here in San Diego. My name is Rob Rainney. I have almost always had a shorthair, and hunted quail pheasant, and sometimes ducks. Hunting with hawks has always fascinated me. My daughters grew up along side me gun hunting. Now I have grand kids. When they get a little older I would love to introduce them to falconry.
I am a diy kind of guy, and have been having fun making what I would bet will end up being useless equipment. I have made braided, and furled leashes. I have been messing around with paracord too. The jesses seem easy, kind of like making play dough snakes. I am attempting a hood, but I'm not sure if its the correct size for a red tail, or maybe a Pterodactyl. It looks pretty big. I still can not figure out the falconers knot just from pictures. But anyway,
peaceeI passed the test today. I was a little worried about the furious pace he was using the red marker when correcting my test, but ended up with 117/130. One step down.
