Dang! Those are some big feet. You could squirrel hunt with that Gos. What kind of Gos is she?

Brian,
She is a finnish bird from Lance. Her feet still need a month to fill in.

Weighed Helga before our training session and was a bit surprised as I haven't weighed her in a few weeks. 1542g. Came right to the lure a few times and killed a bag. Its gonna be a big year.

This is Helgas first jack for the season. She is around 90 days out of the egg in this pic. Her weight was in the low 1400g range. She had chased about 10 jacks before conecting with this one. The flight was fast, perhaps 60' from the flush. The jack was dead by the time I got to her.
I think this year from this bird I have learned more about gos than any other bird.

Nice! Where were you hunting? On the east coast right? Is that about average for the size of the jacks back there? Looks like it'll be a fun season for you!

Hi Erik,
I'm curious as to how agressive she was on rabbits starting out. Did you bag her? We both got our birds from Lance, and even though he said it might take some doing to get them chasing bunnies, mine seems to like it....Tim

Paul,
That was a young jack. I would guess 1/4 grown. I am looking foward to this season.
Tim,
She chased from day one but it took 2 bags to get her serious. I guess she would have figured it out on her own given time.
Helga got her third jack today.
