Hmmmmmmmm, could you just handle that with a work glove like we use on HH's?
That is a scary bird right there!

:D Be my guest, but keep this in mind:
Talons of (left > right): Harpy Eagle, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle,
Great Horned Owl, Red-tailed Hawk, & Peregrine Falcon)

I think a Harris would fit right in between the last two...? ;)

Wow, what a great pictutre and perspective. What is sick is after you have seen a big Golden up close and to see how pitiful the comparison is between that and a Harpy.
hi guys,
you wouldn't want that overshooting the glove now would you

Does anyone know where this picture is from? It looks more like a painting to me than a photo. The feet just don't seem quite right.
Now that's a REAL squirrel hawk if I've ever seen one!!

Except they hunt tree primates a little smaller than us, thank God, that would be a squirrel stompin' machine . and that is an awesome comparison with the talons... WOW

Cool pics Shaun. Is there a website with more info on him and the Harpy? After just reading the thread on coping the Harris, all I can think is how do you cope the beak on a bird that size without losing a limb or your life?
