You made reference to the fact his moult looks different than it should? How should he look?

All the other gyr/sakers i've seen out of a silver parent, or anything but a black gyr parent, have had grey backs instead of the black and peach color that he has.

Good luck. I've seen the goose videos. I have a female gyr/saker. Like you, I plan on hawking anything that is silly enough to get up and run or fly in our presence. I don't have to many bunnies here, but I got jacks o plenty. Maybe we will knock some out like goose. Keep at it. tony

I hope to get goose on jacks this year. A lot of people will tell you it can't happen without sighthounds....don't listen to them. Any pics of your hen?

He's his normal self, minus noise. Quiet a big majority of the time and just waiting to start the season

Here she is. One tail feather left to drop. Dropped the other side yesterday, so it should be out in a day or so. I expected more body feathers to be out, but she still has some growing time.

I am a little pissed that she has a small sore on her right leg above her anklet. No idea where it came from. I am going to make her a new narrower set of anklets, and probably free loft her for a while to get it cleared up. I have been watching it for a few days, but today it looks noticably more red and larger.

Well here's a few pics from the CHC picnic a friend took, where it rained most the day, hence why goose is wet.

Looks great Noah. Would you mind showing us your leash and jess setup? Looks like you have a jess extender, but it also looks like the jesses are shrink wrapped together at the bottom? I am not sure. I was considering something like that for the moult to prevent the birds legs from going around the block. Thanks!

I don't have a camera at the moment, i will try and borrow my friends later today if i remember. The jesses are bullet jesses that were made by jfseaman. They are a few years old but still are rock solid. I like bullet jesses because they are easy to use and i never fly with jesses in. I've used this pair on redtails, a redshoulder, and goose, all without issue.

The leash is the first leash i've ever bought. It was from AZFalconry supply [no longer has a website]. It's just a leash with a barrel swivel, then a leash extender on the other side. To be honest, this is the most reliable setup i've used so far, and it's super quick and super easy to use.

Personally i really doubted the barrel swivel, as i am a huge fan of the english d-style swivel, but after using this one for about a year without issue, i see they have their place in falconry.

Thanks Noah. I like how they are connected a little way up above the swivel. Somehow my bird strattled the 8" perch with the rather short jesses that I use. Not sure how that happened, but it did. Thanks for taking the time to post a picture. I might just look into getting some like that. Thanks again.

I began working wih both of my birds again this weekend. It is a very early start for me. Seems I am always getting going in late October for some reason. Yesterday it was 100+ degrees, maybe that is it. Gyr/saker flew across the yard and hasn't missed s beat. Gyr/Peregrine will take a little longer. I really like the subtle colors on top of her head. Here is the gyr/saker:
