Here's a couple pictures I took yesterday while out hawking, we must have snuck up on this little guy. I guess they aren't too bad for a video camera being run one-handed with a pissed off goshawk in the other. :)

Hard to tell size by a picture.....Can't really see the tail (squared or rounded)...could be a female sharpie.

Looks like a coops to me, but I'm no expert :P. And really great photos considering the cirumstance :)!

Male coops... I was able to get pretty close to him. I hope he was ok... I've been thinking about him quite a bit in the last few days but I won't be able to get back to that spot to check on him until next weekend.

Ken,
I can tell your hooked on hawks. It's funny how even a wild hawk can stay on your mind for a time.....There's a dark phase RT that I saw here for 4 winters in a row. Always on the same 1/2 mile section of road. The people who live on that road said they saw him even in the spring and summer. Kinda rare for Ky.....but I haven't seen him now for 2 yrs.... I thought I might find some offspring.
