Okay ... now that the useless credentials are in place. I am a Husband to 1, Father of 3 ... 13 year Military Vet ... Half U.S. Navy (Gulf War) and Half U.S. Army. I am very interested in expanding my conservation efforts in hunting, to include falconry. Which is what brings me to this site. To find out all of the information I can, to further my personal knowledge and experience in proper care taking of raptors to extend beyond just recovering raptors when injured.

So any assistance would be greatly appreciated in my search for knowledge.

Thank you.

BTW ... here are a couple recovered with injury and taken to an Avian Vet Specialist here in Tulsa.

Great Horned Owl ... broken wing and leg after a meeting with a vehicle.

Hi Reginald, welcome to NAFEX. It's nice to see someone making a living doing something they really enjoy.
You'll find a few Okiehawkers on this site, including me, lol. OFA is having it's annual picnic next month, that might be a good place to start.
I'm located in Tulsa also, you are more than welcome to stop by.
Again welcome to the site.
Best Regards,
Jeff

(welc) Reginald! I do a little nuisance trapping myself, not at the scale that some do. Just take care of the local pest. Just a way to make extra money to support the sport of falconry. Have fun. Interersting to see all the ways you can set a conibear, land and water.

Jeff ... I would love to come if I can get loose. We have some bat exclusions, animal removals, pigeon exclusions, clean outs and some other things going on ... but I will try to break loose to go. Thanks for the invite, and the welcoming.

Everet ... thank you for the welcoming. Yes, the "coni" have multiple uses for sure. I am originally from Texas, where there were no imposed limitations on how the Coni could be set ... but here in Oklahoma ... setting them is completely different. No bucket sets, no land sets ... everything either above ground level or completely submerged. I just hope with the right guidance and instruction ... I can get as good at Falconry as I am at removing and controlling wildlife. Again ... thanks for the welcoming.

Thank you for the welcoming ... but a word of advice, since I am from Southeast Texas ... I wouldn't tell too many people that you were from Bossier, Arkansas if I didn't have to. Just kidding :D ... I used to live in Marshall, and we went to Bossier often when I worked as a wire line engineer in the oilfield. I see that you know Robb Russell from the Wildlife Pro Network ... or at least he is on your face book. Robb is a good friend of mine ... and I am an Admin on the WpN. Looks like this "big ole world" is getting smaller and smaller every time the 'puter gets turned on. Again, I thank you for the welcoming ... and if you need assistance down your way ... let me know. All of my people are from the Piney Woods of East Texas.

Hey Jeff,

As I am sure you know, you have a bunch of good falconers up in your area. I'm sure they will (or have) provide you with plenty of support. Welcome.
