Hello All,
Found an immature Harris Hawk hanging out by my work yesterday in Oceanside, CA.
It was not wearing any falconry equipment but it was banded with a seamless band. It hung around all day until I was able to get off work. At that time I was able to trap the bird.
The bird was sharp but not starving. Doesn't appear to have ever been manned. I'm assuming it escaped out of someone's breeding chamber however I don't know of anyone in my area breeding Harris Hawks.
