    I have been following your thread. Yes I still have him and he is exactly at the stage your describing with yours. I am facing the same obstacles due to the cold
    I bought a launcher and have been springing bagged mallards to keep him on course until my ponds thaw. Been so cold even my spots at the marsh are frozen.
