OUCH!
Hi Joe,
I believe Jim is flying him in the 250-260 g range. Maybe Jim can update us. Remarkable how much he resembles a Richardsons merlin isnt it?
The resemblence is remarkable. What caught my eye when I first saw the picture was the leg mounted transmitter, and that he was flying without jesses. I'm currently flying my 2nd Female Merlin and have been following the advice of friends with many years of Merlin experience flying without jesses and using a neck mount transmitter. I don't really like the neck mount and would like to try a backpack but would need help with installing one.
Jim Bryan's tiercel merlin x barbary with a mourning dove. It sounds like the bird is really hitting its stride now. Good work Jim.

Here are some pictures taken by my wife of my FHH Zeva. These were taken last season on one of her first hunts. She is about 6 months old at the time.

Nice shot!!!!
I don't care what you say, I haven't spent too much time in the desert. This water tower is winking at me!
"Jump inside, Alex. There's plenty of cool, fresh water inside my mouth! And once I swallow you, you'll never be thirsty again! BWAAAHAHAHAH!"

That water tank is just fooling with you Alex..don't go inside. Could be rattlesnakes and black widows waiting for you.
It is off Elkhorn Road, and there's actually a shack with some sort of motor inside of it, possibly for an oil derrick. If you're familiar with the old property with the oil derrick sticking out like a sore thumb, that's where the photo was taken. There are other towers and structures, as well.
We use to park right there and walk into the hills in the background and hunt chukar!! Is there still shotgun shells all over the place???
