Hey Fred, not sure what is going on but I could not get any of the links you posted to work? Is the site down for maintenance or something?
Work fine for me. User error.
These hats are great! They are from Cabelas and have a stylized version of the NAFA logo on the front with est.1961 on the front as a nod to the 50th anniversary. I bought four for myself and will be bringing them to the meet to sell, but don't wait order now, and keep an eye out for more NAFA products.
Okay, got it to load. Finally!
i am a paid and up to date member, but where do i find the username and password info at? I had just gotten an email from NAFA not too long ago with it disclosed in the email, but it is now gone from my trashcan file. Thanks in advance....
got it....thanks....
PM sent Bill!
Folks, just a note about the Hats. These are NAFA Hats and they are available to everyone, not just NAFA members (not my decision, so don't say anything to me about it). So the Hats page is accessible to everyone and you can get to it from the NAFA home page. There is an Add To Cart button at the bottom and you can buy multiple colored Hats. Just remember to change the drop down box to the color hat you want to add to your cart.
One mistake folks will find is when they hit Add To Cart and then it takes them to PayPal and they want to buy another hat, if you close out the PayPal window and go back and select another color and hit Add To Cart, it will not do anything. You MUST click Continue on the PayPal screen and it will close that screen and take you back to your original Hat screen to select again. Again, that is a PayPal thing, I didn't do that. LOL
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I will try and help you.
The rationale to sell to the general public for one is that it's a wise business decision, and secondly it allows non-member family and friends to purchase caps, and in the future other NAFA goods, for their NAFA member family and friends. I don't think there's a huge contingent of non-NAFA members looking to buy our products.
That's cool Paul! I am all for it. Any way NAFA can make money to support itself without having to raise dues again, is good by me.
Another note to everyone! These are not NAFA Meet Hats, these are just everyday Hats. You must register for the NAFA Meet to get a Meet Hat. Just didn't want anyone thinking they were the same hat.
If a mod wants to move this picture to the first post, I would appreciate it. I should have put it on there in the first place. Duh!

I'm kind of fond of the newsboy, gatsby style hats, they go by a number of names like golf hat, driving hat, etc,.
I would like to say like the hat you often see Ed Pitcher wearing. He got it from me though.
Once in a while you you see a cool Fedora style hat like is typical for the even older falconers than me like maybe Heinz Meng or Jesse Woody. I haven't worn one but I could I think. I don't know how hard it would be to sew a logo onto though.
Hats and falconry is kind of weird deal, one flying a longwing doesn't want a large obstructing brim hence the appeal of a short brim hat that shields the sun but optimizes the field of view.
There is also the ear flap type hat you often see Steve Chindgren wearing. I don't think the ones with copious amount of lush fur would be a good idea around a RT.
That's what cadge boys (apprentices) are for!toungeout. I've worn ball caps, but prefer my stetson with a 2" or so brim. Pretty much any hat can be embroidered. The rig is the same. I'm gonna get one of these new ones just ta have & support the effort. Sorta like "meet" hats, never wear em.
Straw one here as well! I just need a nice NAFA patch to sew to the side!

I was thinking this may good for the T-perch hawkers or perhaps one with a broader brim. Some do protrude out over the neck in the rear to protect from that lucky shot or should I say squirt. This guy certainly appears to know what I'm talking about.
I wear these hats when I'm doing abatement work with a T post:
www.sunprecautions.com They have some REALLY wide brimmed hats. US made, durable and the Solumbra fabric is hand washable.
I also got a pair of extra-dark sunglasses for rooftop abatement work. Staring at the sky at your hawks, on a sunny day, on a white rooftop is really hard on the eyes, got tired of eye aches and headaches at the end of the day. Again US made, you can get ANY lens strength with ANY Frame!!!! I got the 4% plum in the new stylish frame. They are GREAT!!! Prompt shipping (about 10 days for your custom lens color).

Are they adjustable fit or flex fit style ballcaps?
Ball caps don't work for me. I have waist length hair, wear braided and the ball caps simply won't stay on my head. I wear a fully brimmed hat. But, I think that the new NAFA caps look great, they just don't work for me.
I'll be bringing back a ton of goodies from vernal... Hats look really nice
How about a boonie hat?

I vote for a boonie type or any full brimmed hat. I wear really wide brimmed hats. So, a similar one would be great for me.
I used to always wear a ball type cap when hunting squirrels but last year, I switched to a Tilley hat and I had a lot less stuff go down the neck of my coat or shirt when I was shaking vines to move the squirrels. The only problem with NAFA using a Tilley hat is they are a bit expensive, but they are guaranteed for life.
