If you're radius is less than an hour away you're going to be disappointed. I grew up in South West Florida its a tough spot to get into falconry but can be done there are a few folks in your area.

I will be there!
Jerry Higby and Mike Saw-icki are in that area join the Florida game hawkers Facebook page and post looking to tag along. I grew up in Naples.
Go to the state meet if possible that Joe mentioned! This is the best way to meet falconers and it is always the best time. I just got back from a meet in Tennessee and I will be going to Alabama's...
I would suggest you find a falconer in your area and ask to tag along with them on a hunt. Falconry and hunting is much different than hawk walks. I am not saying don't go to the school and check it...
Okay great! May have to come just for the weekend then!
I know the meet is the 13th-18th is anyone flying the 11th,12th,13th? May try to fly up just for that weekend. I am in school and can't take weekdays off. I would love to see others fly their birds.
Get in touch with one of the Florida Falconry Clubs. I believe there are a few falconers in that area if not they aren't too far. That is the best way to introduce yourself and to see if the sport is...
Welcome! Sounds like you're on the right path! Good luck!
There is also another club in Florida. The Florida Hawking Fraternity http://www.f-h-f.org. I attended one of their meets a few years ago and the club was how I was able to find falconers in my area....
The FHF meet is in Sebring, Fl. If you are not a member you will be able to join right at the meet. Many people do bring and hunt with their birds.
All the best
Thanks Tom! That would be great!
Thanks Zach! Appreciate it.
Hello! My name is Nick Yashko and I would consider myself a "pre apprentice" I know I have the time and the drive to take up falconry. As it is a lifestyle. I was wondering if there are many...
Yeah there are lots of pythons in the Everglades. Not many where I live though. And I'm not positive so don't quote me on this but, I think they are allowed to have three apprentices at a time.
Yeah i know haha.. There are a few Floridians. I am a "pre-apprentice" I finally found somebody to go hunting with and learn from though! My goal is to have a bird on the fist by next year.
Naples, Fl
I live in Naples, Fl and am looking for the same thing! Although I would like to get an apprenticeship so I can fly a bird next year.
Good Luck!
I also was unable to find the video.
I don't live in VA but my uncle does and I go up there sometimes. I am not a falconer yet but am on my way!
