    Default Hi from the UK

    Hi all,

Thought I would try this forum as the uk version has gone downhill lately. I am lucky enough to fly birds of prey for a living and have done for some years now - currently work for a well known zoo as a bird trainer and falconer, allowing me to work with some interesting species. Hunt my own falcons currently flying a gyr/saker in his 4th season on crow and gull.

I am a great believer that we all still learn daily with falconry and it seems the deeper we get into the sport and as years go by we realise how little we truly know. Hope to have a good insight through this forum on how you guys are doing things across the water and hopefully I can share some ideas and experiences too.

Welcome, and no doubt you will be able to teach, and learn, here.

    Welcome Guy,
We would love to see some pics of your gull/crow hawking. There are not a lot of falconers flying these quarrys in the US. What kind of kool raptors do you have in the zoo?

    Hi Jeff,

I will get some pictures up for you guys - the environment and landscape we hawk in over here couldn't be any more different to yours.

Raptors in the zoo are expanding we are flying Harris hawks and many owls, Merlin falcon, bald and batteluer eagle, king vultures, gy falcon, Lanner falcons and European kestrels amongst others but we have a quiet impressive white stork in our shows and free flying 9 macaws together which is quiet an experience - sorry haven't listed all that we fly!
