Registration for the 2018 Texas Hawking Association’s annual field meet is now open. We welcome all falconers, those interested in falconry, and their guests from the state of Texas and around the world. This year’s field meet will once again be held in Abilene, Texas from Friday January 12th through Monday, January 15th. As in past years, this is over Martin Luther King Day weekend. This year’s Friday night speaker is Dr. James Ingram of Bennington, Nebraska. Jim will speak about breeding and flying Aplomado falcons. This year’s Saturday night speakers are Dr. Jennifer Coulson and her husband, Tom Coulson. The title of their talk is: The Ultimate in Cooperation: Group Hunting with Harris’s Hawks. Jenn and Tom are also the authors of The Harris’s Hawk Revolution, the foremost written work on the species and their use in falconry.

If you click on “Meet Registration” in the menu at the top of the page, you can see the purchase options. Most of you will want to renew your membership for 2018 and pay for the meet together. A few of you may just need to pay for the meet as you have already renewed for 2018. You may also simply renew your membership. Your meet fee includes one t-shirt with original art produced by member Liana Winters Smith. Please see the art below. Banquet and raffle tickets may also be purchased at the same time or at the meet itself. Hotel information is at the bottom of the post due to the length of the hyperlink.
