I have been actively taking advantage of the information on this website for the past few months, so I figure it's about time to introduce myself. I live in south western WV, and part of the requirement to live here is to be an avid outdoorsman... it's on the application for residence, even. I'm a cop by trade, and a soon to be dad (yeehaw) thanks to a wonderful wife!
I have been interested in falconry since high school, which has been more years than I care to admit. I recently discovered a master falconer that lives 1/4 mile away (and there are only 12 in the state) who is sponsoring my ambition, and guiding me on the construction of my mews/weathering yard for a red tail to -hopefully- call home when trapping season opens here in September.
Peace,
Chappy

to NAFEX! I grew up in WV (Doddridge County, no stop lights, population 6k when I lived there). Falconry was illegal when I lived there, so I moved! LOL Lots of great information here! I keep meaning to go back up to the ole home place and fly my birds, but WV has some funky rules for bringing a bird into the state. More hassle than it is worth for me to climb those crazy hills chasing my bird. LOL
