hello all i new to this hobby i am looking for someone help to start out i live in east Tennessee . i live in hampton tn 37658 i look on Google for 2 hours now i cant someone in my state to help me to get start any help me or call me at 423-440-6799

Think of it being like a whirlpool. You paddle close to the edge out of curiosity, and before you know it you're being sucked in. Not that you'll mind too much in this case, I think...

On a more serious note, you might also want to get in touch with and join your state falconry organization or club, if you have one. They're great ways to meet other falconers/potential sponsors through events like picnics and meets. As a fellow pre-apprentice, I would also recommend you check out The Modern Apprentice if you haven't already-it has good information for apprentices and pre-apprentices on a variety of topics.

There are certain procedures that need to be followed to get a falconry permit, but you should talk to a few local people first to see if you are truly interested and have the time to take up falconry. The molt is upon us now, so not many of us are hunting birds at this point, but it still would be wise to network with the local falconers. Falconry is not so much a hobby, but becomes a way of life.

Your first stop should be contacting Walter Cook at the region 2 office of the TWRA for a Falconry information packet . Once it arrives you can familiarize yourself with the state and federal regulations regarding falconry that are pertinent to TN. When the packet arrives it will contain a few names of state falconers willing to speak to falconry hopefuls.
