    Default Hello from Georgia

    Greetings from Atlanta!

About me: I began falconry in 1991 at the age of 15 and practiced until 21 when school/work/life became too taxing. After many many years in college(s), I earned my PhD and entered the real world 10 years ago. At 37, I finally reached a point in my life where I feel comfortable to return to the sport I loved so much. I am happy to say that I recently passed my inspections, reactivated my license, and I am beginning the process of gearing up for trapping season. I just re-joined the Georgia Falconry Association and I am eager to re-join NAFA as soon as I can find a reference.

Technically I still hold the general class status I reached many years ago but I feel more like an apprentice than ever before.

    Thank you for reading.

Welcome back...you are just in time for the golden age of falconry. Very few have had the opportunities available now. Hang on to your hat though, things are a changing, rapidly. I am wondering if we will loose Sage Grouse hawking for the remainder of my hawking life, this year? It is a 'get it while you can' situation, before it evaporates.

Absolutely. The laws and regulations have, in some cases, changed dramatically in last 20 years. Still trying to figure out how it pertains to GA.
