may not be my place, but 1mm roo might not hold up for a larger hood. I ran across some calf @ Tandy's that was pretty soft. didn't stiffen rock hard after wetting.( I have a nice store) 2-3oz. strong enough, but not what I needed for my endevors. Using it for the back half of the pattern might serve you well. just a thought.
